| I can't even begin to describe of how happy and proud i am of myself and the rest of the st joes curling team for being victorious and for dominating the game yet again . Friday, February 20,09 the curling tournament, yes! that meant no school...no stupid 1st, 2nd, 3rd period. Just curling all day long =) i remember i first joined the curling team in gr 9 and i was pretty clueless, i mean i didnt know wata hell i was doing, this is curling we're talkin bout...a white persons sport lol and i was just some azn kid that didnt even know how to play curling,i mean ive only watched it on tv. BUTTT i then got to know the game and i learned all that stuff u know...sweeping, throwing the rock, sliding out on the ice. Then i remember my first curling tournament, it was sucha big dissapointment, why?.. cuz we were so close in coming in third place but that stupid cheating jewish school CHAT beat us...pshhh pure luck. It really sucked to have gone home empty handed with no medals. But i mean we tried our best and thats what matters most. Well, as the year progresses i noticed the whole team and i jus started to get better and better and we eventually just started curling like pros. Gr 10 and 11 were the best years because we won a bunch of games, swept the whole medal gold, silver, and bronze, brought home that banner for st joes=D mann we were just the BOMB in curling lol. st joes OWNS! in curling. And then this year came, and all i can think about was wow! this is it...my last year curling i better make the best out of it. AND WELL BAM! i actually did. At first i felt hesistant and uneasy about being made skip...shit! cuz i mean it was like the most important job. if i screw up then id screw the whole team and that would suckkk like HELL! but it didnt turn out bad at all, Thank God!. I made some mistakes, threw some good rocks, threw some bad rocks but overall everything went well. why?...cuz i led the team to the bronze medal game. your probably saying 3rd place? bronze? ewww... that sucks! well ur wrong. Coming in 3rd is definitely not bad at all. I was just glad that on my last year of curling i didn't go home empty handed. WE ACTUALLY WON 3RD PLACE! I was just so proud of myself for being able to lead the team to place 3rd out of like 9 other schools and for bringing home the bronze medal for st joes. But im especially proud of amy and her team for placing 1st,winning the gold medal and bringing the banner home u guys truly deserve the gold, u guys played so well, im so glad that u guys beat CHAT. All in all we both came out on top, we were the best! no one can touch that =D We swept our heart out and in the end it paid off. All those curling practices on sundays and tuesdays, getting hurt..slipping and hitting my head on the ice...it was WORTH IT! seriously. Now, I'm just really sad that everythings over tho. But i want to look on the bright side, so first of all, i just wanna say Thank You for the amazing experience, Thank You everyone<3 for all the great curling memories, BIG Thank You goes out to Ms Hudson-Fraser especially, for the endless support and for taking care of me wen i got hurt, from driving me to the hospital, staying with me there for hrs till late at night , driving me home, and calling to check up on me the next day. You truly are the best teacher and coach. Lastly i just wanna say, i will NEVER EVER forget this awesome experience and i will ALWAYS treasure these curling memories. I'm gonna bring it with me wherever i go and continue on to curl. I love u team st joes<3 WE THE BEST! Keep on curling dudesss! |
